✨ Awards Ceremony – Fondation Jacques Rougerie - Académie des beaux-arts✨
On December 11, in the prestigious Séances Hall at the Palais de l’Institut de France, the Awards Ceremony for the 2024 International Architecture and Innovation Competition of the Fondation Jacques Rougerie took place.
This event was held in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Honorary President of the Fondation, Rachida Dati, Minister of Culture, Xavier Darcos, Chancellor of the Institut de France, and Laurent Petitgirard, Permanent Secretary of the Académie des beaux-arts.
🎖 These awards celebrate the creativity and commitment of young international talents who, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary network of experts, are working on solutions to address the major current and future global challenges:

During the Ceremony, the Fondation presented six awards:
🌊 Grand Prize for "Architecture and Innovation Related to Climate and Rising Sea Levels"
- "Mallorquín Purification Park" (Colombia): Proposes a water management system for Caribbean coastal cities that combines natural solutions with advanced technologies.
- "Souffle" (Cameroon): A visionary urban planning model that fights poverty while restoring the environment in response to climate change impacts.
🌍 Grand Prize for "Architecture and Innovation for the Sea"
- "Sedna" (France): A project harnessing wave energy to support the energy transition of Arctic communities.
✨ Grand Prize for "Architecture and Innovation for Space"
- "Mission Avatar" (Tajikistan): A bold mission exploring Jupiter's icy moons through robotic avatars that integrate technological advancements and human exploration.
- "Mama Quilla" (France): A biomimetic habitat inspired by mammalian skin, featuring technologies applicable to lunar space missions.
🧪 Lab Special Prize for "Architecture and Innovation"
- "L.I.S.A." (Italy): The transformation of an offshore platform into a research center for ecosystem studies and analysis.
Additionally, the winners of the Artistic Awards for the Sea and Space, supported by the Académie des beaux-arts, were honored:
- Lucile Viaud (France), researcher and artist
- David Spriggs (Canada), visual artist
We are committed to giving maximum visibility to these young creators and their projects, which combine Arts, Sciences, and Technologies in harmony with Nature. The Fondation, a partner of UNESCO, will showcase these innovations during major global events, such as the UNOC (United Nations Ocean Conference) to be held in Nice in June 2025.
