Venice Architecture Biennale 2023 | Inhabiting the sea and space

At the Venice Architecture Biennale, Jacques Rougerie was invited to speak at a conference on Thursday May 18 on the theme "The laboratory of the future, inhabiting the sea and space".

In Venice, a city that has always embodied the challenge of living on water, l'ARCA INTERNATIONAL magazine, in collaboration with the Fondation Jacques Rougerie - Académie des beaux-arts, aims to stimulate new synergies between the world of architecture and the scientific community in terms of sustainable solutions adapted to the future development of oceans and space.

Moderated by Francis Rambert, Director of the Department of Architectural Creation at the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine in Paris, the conference also welcomed Francesco Musco, Professor of Urban Planning and Technology (Università Iuav di Venezia), coordinator of experimental programs on marine spatial planning; Francesca Santoro, Senior Programme Officer for Ocean Literacy, UNESCO-IOC; Cesare Maria Casati, Director of l'ARCA INTERNATIONAL.
